ConEdison Solutions Appoints Richard Rathvon Vice President, Retail Commodity

Valhalla, NY – ConEdison Solutions, one of the country’s leading energy services companies, has named Richard D. Rathvon as Vice President for Retail Commodity Services. He will be based in the company’s corporate headquarters in Westchester County, New York and will lead the team focused on energy supply to commercial, industrial, and governmental customers.
Mr. Rathvon will be responsible for leading the company’s retail electric and gas commodity businesses providing leadership for all aspects of the retail business including sales, marketing, product development and support operations.
Mr. Rathvon has more than 25 years of experience in the energy services industry, with a focus on retail energy businesses.
He will lead a retail commodity business that presently extends into 50 utility territories situated in 12 states and the District of Columbia. Mr. Rathvon will also lead ConEdison Solutions re-entry into the natural gas retailing business and will help to identify opportunities for expansion into new territories, and help shape the company’s pricing structures and customer operations to maximize value to customers and drive business growth.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Rathvon has led and motivated teams that have generated significant growth in energy related businesses and led several ventures into newly opened energy markets in several states. He has managed sales programs that have sustained existing sources of revenue, while initiating and nurturing strong and lasting business relationships with new customers.
Prior to joining ConEdison Solutions, Mr. Rathvon was Senior Vice President at Liberty Power Corp. in Fort Lauderdale, where he led the sales division for the retail electric business in deregulated markets.
Mr. Rathvon also worked at Reliant Resources and its various subsidiaries, where he led Reliant’s new growth strategy for the retail commercial and industrial electric business in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Northeast regions.
A licensed attorney, Mr. Rathvon is a member of the American Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. He served as a past president and board member of the Retail Energy Supply Association (RESA).
