ConEdison Solutions Offers Energy-Saving Price Options To Households In Pennsylvania’s Met-Ed Service Territory
November 08, 2011
VALHALLA, NY – November 8, 2011: ConEdison Solutions (CES), one of America’s largest energy services companies, is helping residential customers in Pennsylvania’s Met-Ed service territory take advantage of low energy prices to reduce spending on electricity.
"Today's energy market presents some of the lowest fixed-price options in years, and consumers can reap significant benefits,” said Robert Anderson, Vice President of ConEdison Solutions . “In today’s difficult economy, families can take a great deal of pressure off their household budgets by reducing their electricity costs.”
Since last year, Mr. Anderson said, his company’s energy experts have been helping businesses in the Met-Ed territory take advantage of money-saving pricing options. By expanding its service to residential users, ConEdison Solutions is building upon its record of success in helping local businesses and residential consumers manage electricity costs.
Beginning this month, CES started serving Met-Ed residential customers with an offer of 8.05 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for on-line enrollment, which represents an 11.5 percent savings compared with the current Met-Ed “Price to Compare” posted on the state’s Public Utility Commission’s PAPowerSwitch.com. This price represents one of the lowest prices listed on the price comparison website.
"With all the suppliers Pennsylvania firms can choose from, it is important to select a trustworthy and reliable provider with a proven record of achievement,” said Mr. Anderson. “Not only has our firm supplied electricity to hundreds of thousands of households around the region, but we have also helped thousands of businesses, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to regional and local firms manage energy spending."
On the business side, CES has several programs and plans targeted to small and mid-sized businesses and institutional users. Mr. Anderson said his company works with local firms to identify pricing plans that best suit a company’s particular needs and usage patterns. ConEdison Solutions offers business users an array of options, including fixed-price plans ranging from one to 36 months, variable price plans that track the market price of energy, and environmentally friendly wind power options.
While many businesses were hesitant to switch to a supplier when the rate caps initially expired, Mr. Anderson said, a growing number of businesses now take advantage of low prices to reduce electricity spending.
“Area businesses see the benefit of competitive energy options, and we expect large numbers of residential users will also benefit,” said Mr. Anderson. “We have seen tens of thousands of Pennsylvania households switch to competitive suppliers, and the momentum continues to grow.”
