8 states driving initiatives to boost clean cars

Electric vehiclesThere aren’t a lot of clean cars on the road today, but eight states have joined the Zero Emissions Vehicles Action Plan.

It certainly helps that half of the several hundred thousand ZEVs on the road are in those states: California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont. The plan is to boost the numbers of ZEVs, which use electricity, hydrogen fuel cells or hybrid technology, to 3.3 million by 2025.

The plan also has provisions to improve services such as charging stations to make buying a ZEV more enticing to car shoppers.
