Putting Contaminated Sites Back on the Map

Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) updated its RE-Powering America's Land mapping and screening tool.  The RE-Powering initiative, started by the EPA in 2008, encourages development of renewable energy on potentially contaminated land, landfills and mine sites.  This updated tool will now provide preliminary screening for 66,000 sites.
