White Plains, NY, Jan 28, 2004 - Yonesy F. Nuñez, a senior systems engineer with ConEdison Solutions in White Plains, has earned the designation of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the premier professional certification for information security experts.

Mr. Nuñez earned the certification from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium - also called (ISC)2 -- a non-profit consortium that trains, qualifies and certifies information security professionals worldwide.
 
As the leader of network security and implementation at ConEdison Solutions, Mr. Nuñez manages internal computer network issues for the company.  He ensures that all systems have adequate security protections and meet industry standards.  
 
Mr. Nuñez has more than seven years experience in designing and implementing security solutions.  He had previously held the position of network administrator at the New York Media Group, where he designed secure network architecture. 
 
Mr. Nuñez holds a bachelor of science degree in computer information systems and finance from Manhattan College.  He also earned a master of science degree in information systems engineering from Polytechnic University. 
 
Candidates earn CISSP certification by accumulating at least three years of professional experience in information system security and passing a 250-question exam covering 10 "domains" or topic areas.  Computer security professionals must be recertified every three years.
