White Plains, NY, December 3, 2002 - Baruch College has announced that JoAnn F. Ryan, President and CEO of ConEdison Solutions, was elected to the board of trustees of The Baruch College Fund.

 

JoAnn F. Ryan received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Baruch College and went on to earn her MS at the College in Computer Information Systems.  At ConEdison Solutions, she is responsible for leading the company in the competitive energy marketplace and building its business in the related energy services industry.

 

"We are pleased to have such a distinguished alumnus come back to join us on the board," said Larry Zicklin, Chairman of the Fund.  "Her extensive experience and strong leadership in business, and specifically in the information technology field, will help further solidify Baruch's reputation as a school of excellence in this new millennium."

 

Founded in 1970 as an independent nonprofit organization to promote the educational welfare of the students of Baruch College, the Fund bridges the gap between the actual cost of educating Baruch's 15,000 students and those funds provided by tuition and by New York State. The BCF, as it is known, has an annual budget of $10 million, which supports recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty; new and ongoing research; scholarships, career placement services, new facilities and technology; and new academic initiatives and programs.
