U.S. ENERGY SECRETARY INVITES CON EDISON SOLUTIONS' PRESIDENT TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL ENERGY INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE
Jorge Lopez Joins America's Leading Energy Services Providers at Policy Forum
Secretary Bodman Launches Ambitious Energy Management Initiative
White Plains, NY - August 9, 2007 - US Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman invited Jorge Lopez, president and CEO of ConEdison Solutions, a leading energy services provider, to participate along with other prominent energy services company leaders in launching a major national energy initiative at the GovEnergy 2007 conference in New Orleans.
Secretary Bodman’s Transformational Energy Action Management (TEAM) initiative will challenge the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to meet and exceed President George W. Bush’s aggressive energy management goals for the federal government. In partnership with a select group of America’s largest energy services companies (ESCO), the Department of Energy will create and implement a unified and coordinated process of contracting and financing energy efficiency projects at federal facilities.
“ConEdison Solutions is honored to be chosen by Secretary Bodman to participate in this industry roundtable,” said Mr. Lopez. “ConEdison Solutions’ status as a national leader in energy management means that we are well equipped to assist federal officials in achieving their ambitious goals for energy efficiency and sustainability.”
The TEAM initiative will enable ConEdison Solutions to work closely with the Department of Energy to complete current and planned energy efficiency projects that address each component of the nationwide initiative, including on-site renewable energy projects and other projects relating to water, sustainability and metering.
As part of the program, each ESCO will provide an initial proposal for efficiency projects at DOE sites that include such components as reducing energy consumption by 30 percent, reducing water consumption by 16 percent, installing on-site renewable energy generation equipment and sustainable building components, a pollution prevention plan, and other requirements.
“ConEdison Solutions enthusiastically supports the government’s efforts to maximize energy efficiency at its facilities,” said Mr. Lopez. “We are excited by the opportunity to devise innovative strategies for the federal government to meet its energy efficiency objectives.”
