At a ceremony held May 5 at an "open house" at the center, the energy company - which occupies offices there -- presented MMC with a commemorative plaque honoring company president Harvey J. Berk for his leadership in energy conservation practices and for launching an inventive, business-to-business program in conjunction with the center's tenants.

MMC is conducting an aggressive energy conservation program at Cherry Tree Corporate Center that will cut lighting-related electricity costs in half and sharply reduce workforce hours required for maintenance.  Through services provided by ConEdison Solutions, the ownership and management firm is instituting a building-wide upgrade involving 1,627 fixtures.  

 

Mr. Lopez said that the lighting upgrade would save approximately 400,000 kilowatt-hours of energy use each year, equivalent to the average amount of energy consumed by 100 residential homes.

 

ConEdison Solutions also applauded MMC's innovative "business-to-business" initiative at the center, whereby the property owner networks with tenants to identify business development opportunities.
