ConEdison Solutions is supplying electricity to the Monroe Township Community Energy Aggregation (MTCEA), an aggregation of residential customers in the Township of Monroe, New Jersey.
The MTCEA, one of the first aggregations in New Jersey, has been structured to provide residential customers (rate class RS) with savings on their energy supply purchases.
Eligible residential customers are automatically enrolled in the program, but have the ability to opt out by submitting a request to the Township. Eligible customers are those who do not have a contract with a third-party electricity supplier.
The term of the aggregation is February 2014 - December 2015. Under the aggregation, the offered price is approximately 18.5% below the average current rate from JCP&L, the town’s electric utility. Customers also have the option to choose budget billing.
Over the 22-month period, the typical Monroe Township resident will realize annual cost savings estimated at about $160 or approximately $290 over the full contract term by joining the aggregation. The Township estimates that Township residents can save approximately $4 million through the aggregation.
