Stony Brook Elementary School in Brewster, MA is just one of six schools in Barnstable County that has received solar installations under the Cape & Vineyard Electric Cooperative program. In 2010, the Coop commissioned ConEdison Solutions to outfit the school’s rooftop with 101 kW of solar PV capacity. The entire installation was financed using a 15-year power purchase agreement. Over that time, Stony Brook Elementary will save nearly $180,000 in electricity bills and offset its CO2 emissions by more than 2.5 million pounds.
