Cape & Vineyard Electric Cooperative was founded to help municipal organizations in the greater Barnstable Area reduce their electricity spending. Partnering with ConEdison Solutions, the Coop invested in an 80 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) installation at the Eastham Department of Public Works. The 402 separate Suntech solar panels are already generating nearly $9,000 in annual savings for the Department. And over the entire 15 years of the Coop’s power purchase agreement, the installation is expected to offset roughly 2 million pounds of CO2.
