U.S. Postal Service
THE CHALLENGE
The metro New York area of the US Postal Service required an improvement in energy efficiency, improved emissions control, resulting in improved lighting quality in its mail handling areas at several regional US Postal Service facilities. By upgrading its lighting infrastructure, the facilities significantly improved their overall efficiency, employee comfort and customer satisfaction.
Additionally, the US Postal Service was mandated by President Clinton's Executive Order, which called for a 20% reduction in energy costs of all government facilities by the year 2001.
The Solution
Memorial Sloan-Kettering
THE CHALLENGE
One of the finest cancer care and research facilities in the country, Memorial Sloan-Kettering recognizes the value of improved operating efficiency and system reliability and continues to seek new and innovative technologies to enhance its research environment.
The existing lighting system and fixtures, which required modernization and were inconsistent throughout the facility, required the intervention of two dedicated full-time employees when repairs were necessary.
As such, Memorial Sloan-Kettering desired a lighting system that ensured continued service reliability while simultaneously enhancing the research environment.
The Solution

THE CHALLENGE
Brooklyn College's existing chilled water and local distribution system was decentralized and approaching the end of its useful life. Brooklyn College officials desired a new facility that incorporated a design for a centralized housing of their chilled water generation system. This centralized facility would create a campus-wide distribution system with improved energy management efficiency and operational controls.
